What is Recycled Polyester (RePET)?

Sustainable practices are at the forefront of our brands ethos, so we have made the decision to use RePET certified polyester fabric as the base cloth for our lined gowns in our bridal collection. The fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles, and it’s free of petrochemicals such as BPA. The fabric is manufactured from plastic bottles with the aim to conserve natural resources and reduce the impact on our environment. For more information on RePET fabrics and products click here.

How do I care for my dress?

All ILKA Bridal gowns are delivered with a garment bag to protect your wedding gown. Always use the hanging loops attached inside your gown to maintain the shape of your dress. Dresses will most likely need steaming. We recommend hanging your dress from the highest point at your accommodation with the garment bag open to release the skirt out of the bag the night before your wedding. This will help to minimise the creases, before you steam the dress on the day of the wedding. Alternatively, some dry cleaners offer steaming services for bridal outfits.

After your wedding we recommend the dress is laundered or dry-cleaned as soon as possible to avoid any stains from becoming permanent. Many bridal gown dry cleaners offer bridal gown boxing services to keep your dress protected when it’s stored away.

Do you offer custom design?

We love our Bridal collection and can offer customisations within our current design offering. We are focusing on our current collection, so individual custom design is not on offer at the moment. Keep up to date by following us on instagram at Studio_ILKA.

Is ILKA an ethical business?

Yes, we are. ILKA is registered with Ethical Clothing Australia, which means we ensure our staff are working in safe and fair conditions in our studio, based in Perth, Western Australia. We are focused on sustainable practices when producing our bridal pieces. For more information on our certification please head to Ethical Clothing Australia.
